Today is National Agriculture Day and the U.S. Department of Agriculture is marking the occasion by thanking everyone who helps ensure a safe and abundant food supply.
A proclamation by President Joe Biden calls all Americans to recognize and reaffirm commitment to and appreciation for farmers, ranchers, foresters, farmworkers, and all those who work in agriculture.
Biden points to how those in the agriculture sector have stepped up over the past year to overcome the challenges posed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, often at great personal risk.
With many still dealing with food insecurity, Biden committed to building the agriculture sector back better with racial equality as well as new revenue streams that help to combat climate change.
