Those looking to celebrate North Country National Scenic Trail Day later this week are invited to join in a guided hike planned for the area near McConnells Mill State Park.
Park staff will lead a hike along the Slippery Rock Gorge Trail from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
This 6.5 mile hike is considered difficult so participants should be in good physical shape and prepared to deal with steep, rocky, and uneven terrain. Participants should also bring a lunch, trail snacks, and plenty of water.
Pre-registration is required by calling the park office. Hikers will meet at the Hells Hollow parking lot.
