The former Grace Youth and Family Foundation building that was owned by former Butler School Board member Bill Halle has been sold.
The Nonprofit Development Corporation (NDC) has purchased the building for $375,000 through bankruptcy court. But, Butler County will be pay the monthly bills for the building under a new lease agreement.
The building itself will be used for the drug addiction recovery community and for the time being the NDC will run all the programs out of the building but eventually it will be run by another non-profit.
Brandon Savochka is the director of human services for Butler County and he says that although the NDC will run the resources out of the building, it will be up to those in the recovery community to decide what programs are run.
“They’ll have some programming, but it’ll really be up to the members of the recovery community of what that programming is,” Savochka said. “It could be financial literacy, employment programs, or speaker sessions. But, whatever that recovery community wants, is what that will end up being.”
There are little cosmetic repairs need and the roof needs to be replaced but Savochka expects to open the building in April.
