Mars Area School District has released the results of a recent fundraiser for charity.
Students at the Mars Area Centennial School raised nearly $4,000 through participation in a Diabetes Awareness Month fundraiser to benefit the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation.
Students made donations to the cause in return for the opportunity to participate in various theme days the week before Thanksgiving including Hat Day and Mars Spirit Day.
All 5th and 6th graders also were allowed to donate $1 for the chance to help duct-tape their principal to a wall in the school gym. There is no word how much money the principal had to pay in order to get free.
