A new record has been set for longevity at Butler County Community College.
As of today, Dr. Nick Neupauer will become the longest-serving president in the history of BC3.
Neupauer passes Dr. Thomas Ten Hoeve, who oversaw the college from May 1970 to September of 1984.
“When I was president starting in 1970, I would characterize my presidency as one of providing early stability and development of the institution,” Ten Hoeve said. “Now, at this era, I believe that Dr. Neupauer has provided excellent enrichment, and expansion, of the institution with financial stability.”
Neupauer officially began his duties on August 1, 2007.
That amount of time is a rare achievement in the world of higher education. Neupauer is currently the longest-tenured president at any of the publicly sponsored universities and colleges in Pennsylvania.
The national average for a presidency is 6.5 years.
