The Butler Area School District is working to address concerns raised by some parents of students who walk to school.
According to Superintendent Dr. Brian White, letters will be sent out to families of students who have been walking to the senior high offering to provide district bus service.
By state law, secondary students who live within two miles of their school can be considered walkers and many have been designated that as a result of boundaries that were set long ago.
However, the district has determined that there is enough space on several buses to allow for creating stops and providing transportation for students who choose to take advantage of this offer.
