The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office has announced additional charges against a local doctor accused of inappropriately touching multiple patients.
According to a press release, a grand jury has recommended numerous felony charges be filed against 48-year-old Dr. Matthew Sabo of Chicora for alleged sexual extortion, corruption, and controlled substance violations that happened at his Foot and Ankle Wellness Center offices in Armstrong, Butler, and Mercer Counties.
Sabo was arrested today (Tuesday) and arraigned with a bond set for $100,000. AG Josh Shapiro issued the following statement: “Since his arrest in February, I commend the numerous brave victims who came forward to give testimony to the Grand Jury about the abuse and manipulation they received at the hands of Dr. Sabo. The investigation found he regularly used his position of authority and power to inappropriately grope patients and overprescribe them dangerously addictive medications. My Office will seek justice for these victims, and hold the defendant accountable.”
A preliminary hearing has been set for the morning of September 9th.
