The candidates running for U.S. Congress in three districts that contain parts of Butler County have been made public.
As part of the new Congressional District maps mandated by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, Democrats Susan Boser and Wade Jodun will compete to face Republican Glenn GT Thompson in the 15th District. Most of eastern Butler County is in the 15th District which stretches to Centre County in the middle of the state.
In District 16 Democrats Chris Rieger, Robert Multari, and Ron DiNicola have filed petitions to appear on the primary ballot to face current Republican Congressman Mike Kelly. The new 16th District includes the northwest portion of the state as well as Erie and part of western Butler County.
The 17th District contains a portion of Cranberry Township where Democrats Beth Tarasi, Connor Lamb, and Ray Linsenmayer will compete to run against Republican Keith Rothfus. Residents of Jefferson and Cranberry Township with questions about district boundaries can contact the Butler County Bureau of Elections.
