New police dashboard video shows a dramatic rescue during a vehicle crash and fire that happened earlier this week.
The accident happened Wednesday around 1 p.m. on Fairground Hill Road.
Butler Township Police say 36-year-old Ryan Davidson of Butler was driving east when he lost control of the vehicle.
Emergency crews arrived and found Davidson was initially unresponsive in the SUV, which had caught on fire. Butler Township Police officer Rachel Dovidio helped pull Davidson from the vehicle; she spoke to our news partners at WPXI.
“When I looked into that vehicle, the passenger side was completely engulfed in flames, so if there was a passenger, there would have been no hope for them,” Dovidio said.
According to police, if they had arrived just 30 seconds later, Davidson may have suffered fatal injuries. He was flown to a Pittsburgh trauma center.
