A local organization is welcoming a new top administrator to the Butler area.
Jennifer Ford has been named the new Executive Director of the Butler County Historical Society.
“I’m a Pittsburgher by birth,” Ford said. “I moved to quaint, historic town of Bedford, where I thought I was retiring.”
The Fort Bedford Museum then hired Ford to be in charge of their program.
But, Ford decided to move back to the area to be with her parents, and that’s when she said the opportunity at the Historical Society arose.
“I kept my eyes open and saw the opportunity to work at the Historical Society open up so I jumped at the chance,” Ford said.
Ford has spent much of her adult life doing lighting design for various theatrical productions in Pittsburgh and around the area.
Residents are invited to stop by the Senator Walter Lowry House to meet Ford or grab one of the few remaining 2020 Butler County Historical Society calendars Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
