An effort to shift the culture of incarceration is coming to Butler County next week.
According to Butler County Prison Warden Beau Sneddon, on June 18th and in collaboration with the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, the Prison will launch IGNITE which stands for Inmate Growth Naturally and Intentionally Through Education.
This program offers a wide array of educational and personal growth opportunities within the jail through merit-based incentives resulting in positive behavior and engagement while connecting participants to vital resources upon release.
Butler will become 3rd site in Pennsylvania the 27th in the country to join this initiative of the National Sheriff’s Association.
Any community partners, volunteers, or sponsors willing to help with this expansion of educational and workforce training offerings are encouraged to contact Matt Clayton 724-431-5390.
