A new partnership between Butler County Community College and Robert Morris will allow students to dual enroll in both colleges—all for the BC3 price.
The program is known as “RMU Gateway” and officials say it will make earning a four-year degree more affordable. Students will be able to take up to 12 credits at RMU, while still earning credits for their associate’s degree.
“Where we are in higher education these days, there are a lot of opportunities to partner with senior institutions,” BC3 President Dr. Nick Neupauer said. “But we carefully vet these, and we do what’s best for our students and our institutions. This terrific RMU Gateway partnership does exactly that.”
Neupauer also cited the physical location of the university.
“Robert Morris University is centrally located to all the institutions. Frankly that’s a big deal when you consider that our students can take classes at [Robert Morris] while they’re enrolled at our place with that great offer of 12 credits at our affordable tuition.”
Robert Morris President Dr. Chris Howard says this agreement with BC3 and other community colleges is great for the university and the area.
“RMU Gateway will not only put college in reach of thousands of students, but it will also bolsters the commitment of each institution to make sure that Western Pennsylvania has that highly skilled, professionally focused workforce it needs to sustain itself for economic growth.”
In addition to BC3, the Community Colleges of Allegheny, Beaver and Westmoreland also joined the agreement.
The program is expected to get underway for the upcoming fall semester.
