Pennsylvania has a new speaker of the house.
State Representative Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) was elected as speaker Monday afternoon. Cutler said the state house of representatives is playing an important role amid the coronavirus health crisis and economic recovery.
“This general assembly and this house of representatives does not have time to waste,” Cutler said. “At this time, in this hour, and under our watch, our Commonwealth needs the best of what this institution was designed to be.”
Cutler comes to the position after serving as majority leader for the past two years.
