The Pennsylvania Game Commission is looking at a plan that would help remove dead deer from roads.
The commission says with only 136 total officers statewide, dead deer that do not block traffic aren’t high priority. But, they also acknowledge that the number of deer begin to pile up, especially during hunting season.
The new plan would allow private contractors to pickup road kill deer.
Advocates for the plan say it would help clean up the deer from the side of the road, and also may quicken the process to remove a deer from private property.
