Governor Tom Wolf has signed an order requiring that masks be worn whenever anyone leaves home.
This order is issued under the authority of PA Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine through the Disease Prevention and Control Act.
Wolf points to recent increases in COVID cases being connected to situations where people are not wearing masks.
There are limited exceptions to the face-covering requirement but the order went into effect as soon as it was signed Wednesday afternoon.
This order requiring the wearing of masks will be sent to state and local officials as well as law enforcement and those in a position to educate the public about the necessity of compliance.
