The former Regal Cinemas at Moraine Point Plaza has sat vacant for over a year now; but a new theater will soon be on the way.
Our newsroom confirmed that MovieScoops Cinemas will be moving into the theater later this year, with an expectation of opening sometime this summer.
Liz Harper, director of marketing for MovieScoops, said they’re absolutely thrilled to be reopening the theater for Butler.
“We were handed the keys just a few days ago and we couldn’t be more excited,” Harper said.
Harper also said they have renovations in mind and will offer movie tickets at a lower cost.
“Movies are a place for us to get away from reality, so a trip to the theater should be fun,” Harper said. “We offer a Mighty Movie Monday where tickets are $5 for everybody and every movie.”
They are currently seeking applications, ranging from ushers to a head manager, which was described as an executive-type position. More information can be found on the application process and the theater here.
MovieScoops runs five other theaters, including a location in Cranberry and the Waterworks. They agreed to take over the lease for the Moraine theater earlier this year.
