Motorists in southern Butler County should be aware of a new traffic pattern on a busy highway beginning later this week.
PennDOT has announced that beginning Thursday, eastbound traffic on Route 228 will no longer be able to turn left onto Beaver Street Extension near Mars in Adams Township.
That area is just east of the recently completed intersection rebuild at Pittsburgh Street and Route 228. Signs will be posted clearly reflecting this modification.
This is a permanent change to improve traffic flow. Those who previously used that left turn will now have to continue to the intersection at Pittsburgh Street in order to turn left.
