Pennsylvania’s Public Utility Commission is making residents aware of recent increases to the cost of electricity.
According to the PUC, West Penn Power residential customers will likely see a slight increase on their next bill as a nearly 8% increase in price per kilowatt hour went into effect December 1st.
The PUC encourages all residents to compare prices for electric generation and evaluate competitive supplier options.
Only about 1 in 4 Pennsylvanians currently receives power from a competitive supplier rather than default service from the local utility but many people can save money by exploring other options.
The PUC’s website PAPowerSwitch.com is a good place to start when looking for more information about comparing power service costs.
