We’re learning more about how much money has been distributed locally through the paycheck protection program.
Nextier Bank says they’ve funded nearly $100 million in loans through the federally sponsored program.
The loans went out to 612 small businesses and, according to Nextier, will help keep over 10,000 employees on their company’s payroll.
However, federal funding for the program has run out. It’s unclear when, or if, Congress will allot more money for another series of loans.
