The NFL Championship games will be played Sunday, beginning with the AFC Championship game. The Cincinnati Bengals visit the Kansas City Chiefs for the second straight AFC title game. The Chiefs are in that game for the fifth straight season. Kick-off is just after 3pm.
The Philadelphia Eagles host the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game at 6:30pm.
Frank Reich has been hired as the new head coach of the Carolina Panthers. Reich was fired during the season by the Indianapolis Colts in November after a 3-5-1 start. He went 40-33-1 there and led the Colts to two Wild Card appearances. Reich was the first quarterback to start a game for the expansion Panthers in 1995. Carolina had interviewed nine candidates, including interim head coach Steve Wilks, who was promoted after the team fired Matt Ruhle during the season.
