The pharmacy company Rite Aid has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Following the announcement, the company also is making the first rounds of bankruptcy sales. While there were a couple of Western Pennsylvania stores on the list, so far no Butler-based Rite Aids will close.
Before the bankruptcy, Rite Aid had over 2,100 stores in 17 different states.
There is a possibility that more Rite Aid stores could still be sold; company officials haven’t released any more details.
