Police have released more information on Monday morning’s vehicle crash into a local restaurant.
It happened around 6 a.m. at the Eat n’ Park by the Clearview Mall in Center Township.
Police did not identify the driver of the SUV, but say the person was driving on Route 8 when the vehicle went off the roadway.
The SUV slammed into the side of the building that faces the highway and knocked down part of the wall and shattered glass.
Police say the driver was under the influence at the time of the crash and was taken into custody.
There were five employees inside the restaurant at that time, but no one was injured.
“We’re excited to confirm the Butler/Clearview Eat’n Park restaurant has reopened for dine-in, takeout, and online ordering after being hit by a vehicle earlier this morning,” company spokesperson Courtney Caprara said in a statement. “We appreciate the quick work of our maintenance team and local officials to ensure the building was safe to reopen.”
