Butler City Council will not raise taxes as they move forward with the process of approving the budget for 2022.
The total 2022 preliminary balanced budget currently sits at just over $10.5 million with a tax rate of 44 mils.
Last year Council raised taxes by .75 mils in order to cover increased expenses such as the first interest payment on the new City Fire Department ladder truck as well as debt service bond payments.
This budget includes raises for city employees as outlined in collective bargaining agreements as well as raises of 3.5 to 4% for appointed officials.
The budget is now available to the public for 30 days before a vote for final approval sometime before the end of December.
