Norma Jean (Huff) Crawford, 84, of Saxonburg (formerly of Karns City) passed away on November 18, 2023, reuniting with her parents Paul Huff and Johanna (Ockovcin) Huff, and her brothers Paul, Don and Gary.
Norma was a strong and independent woman. She grew up learning how to cook and prepare just about anything, which her family enthusiastically enjoy. She was skilled at canning everything from deer meat to vegetables, however the family enjoyed her deer jerky the most. Rasing her family as a single parent, she never had much but she was always generous to those in need. She was always there for others and would often recall one young man who seemed to have a sixth sense as he would always show up when she was baking cookies. After 12 years of being a stay-at-home mom she entered the workforce working at a steel mill ( ARMCO) to help support her family. After retirement she spent 9 years in Florida with her daughter and son.
It is her tough and persistent demeanor that kept her hardy, fit, and able to live a life full of the people and things she loved.
Norma loved to travel and her most memorable trips were to Egypt and Ireland. She was an avid bowler and a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a lover of nature, and anyone who knew her would find her walking all the time. She loved to read and research about crystals and the Native American way of life. More than anything, she loved to dance.
Norma was the mother of 4 children: Sally Kuss, Cindy (Ken) McCrea, Bill (Yolanda) Kuss and Paul (Stephanie Schoettker) Kuss and loving grandma to 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She taught her family resilience during tough times through her actions over the years. We were blessed to have her in our lives.
