The number of local residents requiring hospitalization for COVID-19 symptoms continues to rise and another local death has been reported.
According to the Butler Health System, as of Monday morning 20 patients are hospitalized at Butler Memorial Hospital with four of those in the ICU. This is an increase of eight compared to last Thursday.
The hospital reported one death to the state on Thursday.
BHS again stresses the importance of vaccinations since over three-quarters of hospital admissions are unvaccinated patients and nearly 100% of the most seriously ill have not been vaccinated.
