The National Weather Service is advising not to start any fires over the next couple of days due to humid and potentially windy conditions.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Colton Milcarek says that conditions in Butler County over the next couple of days will create an increased chance of fires spreading.
“Over the next couple of days, relative humidity is dropping into the mid-20s for Butler County and potentially lower 30s on Thursday,” Milcarek said. “While wind is not expected to be elevated for these days, with such dry conditions use caution if you’re doing any outdoor fires.”
Conditions with humidity under 30 percent and winds greater than 20 miles per hour increase fire spread possibility.
Crews responded to seven fires on Tuesday in Butler County.
Milcarek suggests fires of any kind of burning later in the day or during overnight hours if needed.
