Election officials in the county are in the process of sending out mail-in ballots.
That’s led some to wonder about how long it takes to send out—and how long it takes for it to get back to election headquarters.
Director of Elections Aaron Sheasley provided a sample timeline at last week’s county commissioner meeting.
He said a ballot that was sent out to a home in Cranberry Township and that it took two days to arrive. The voter filled it out and sent it back to the county office, which he said took three days, but also included Columbus Day.
Again, officials urge that if you want to vote by mail, that you should get your application in now, fill out your ballot when it arrives, and then send it back as soon as possible.
The deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot is October 27th.
