A local historical landmark will be hosting a free event this weekend that is open to the public.
On Saturday, June 9, 2018, SRU’s Old Stone House on Route 8 in Slippery Rock will host “Early American Day,” where participants can experience how the former stage coach stop and tavern was in the 1800s.
Some of Saturday’s demonstrations will include butter churning, ice cream making, blacksmithing, and candle dipping among other activities. Live music from the period will be performed and there will also be games and crafts for kids.
Saturday’s event will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m.
