At least one motorist was seriously injured as a result of a multiple vehicle crash that occurred Thursday afternoon in Muddy Creek Township.
The call came into the Butler County 911 Center just before 1 p.m. when three vehicles collided in the 2000 block of Route 422 near the Pilot service station.
Crews from Portersville, Prospect, and Slippery Rock EMS arrived to find the vehicles still on the road and two injuries. A helicopter was called to land at Lake Arthur Estates to transport at least one of those people for additional treatment at Allegheny General Hospital.
A portion of the highway had to be shut down and traffic was delayed until the scene was able to be cleared around 2 p.m.
