One person was flown to a hospital and others were seriously injured in a crash that happened yesterday afternoon in Jefferson Township.
The accident happened just after 3 p.m. on Saxonburg Road near Lefever Road when 75-year-old John Damico of Butler lost control of his vehicle going around a curve. His car then went into the southbound lane and hit another car.
There were four people in the other vehicle, who were all injured in the crash. Police say a passenger, 79-year-old Nancy Danik of Saxonburg was seriously injured and flown to a Pittsburgh trauma center.
Meanwhile, 79-year-old Henry Kowaleski, 83-year-old Joyce Wise, and 85-year-old Dolores Mrozinski all of Saxonburg were injured and taken to Butler Memorial Hosptial.
Damico was also injured and taken to the hospital.
A portion of the road needed to be closed in order to allow for a guardrail to be removed.
