Organizers are getting ready for the 10th annual Connoquenessing Creek Cleanup.
Two separate days are scheduled for August 28th and September 11th this year.
Mike Handley helps organize the effort and he says there is a big cleanup project that the group hasn’t been able to reach in the past.
“Right above the Kittanning Street bridge there’s a junkyard up there,” Handley said. “There’s so much trash there, it could one of our biggest years ever.”
Over the past 10 years, the group has removed over 627,000 pounds of trash from the Connoquenessing Creek.
Volunteers are needed along with supplies.
