President Joe Biden has announced more student debt relief for those enrolled in the SAVE program.
An additional 10,800 borrowers in Pennsylvania had their debt cleared after a new ruled from President Biden. This brings the total amount of state residents whose debt that has been forgiven to over 110,000.
Those under the SAVE plan qualify for this round of loan forgiveness had to have made payments for 10 years and an original loan of $12,000 or less.
Those under the IDR plan will also see forgiveness through “administrative adjustments” and borrowers with a Public Service Loan Forgiveness plan will see their debt canceled if they have served more than 10 years if they have worked in a government or nonprofit position, such as a teacher, firefighter, or police officer.
