Data from the Butler Health System has come in for October and it shows the number of people who have died in October due to COVID-19 at Butler Memorial is as high as it was in January.
( We continue to look at the number of COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths over the past few months at Butler Memorial Hospital to see what the data is showing. Data comes directly from the Butler Health System and indicates hospitalizations, number of individuals in the ICU, and how many deaths were reported to the Department of Health.)
Deaths
The data shows 31 deaths occurred in October due to COVID-19. Not only is that the highest number of deaths in a single month at Butler Memorial Hospital since January of this year, but it also ties the number of deaths that occurred in January (2021).
In February, the numbers started a downward trend at Butler Memorial and continue to July, when no patients died of COVID-19. After July, the numbers started to increase once again with 8 deaths at the hospital in August, 19 in September, and now 31 in October.

It seemed to be like a bell curve in April where numbers increased to as high as 24 people and then decreased to 8 by month’s end. In May, the numbers did not reach higher than 15 and would remain that way until late August when, at most, 24 people were hospitalized. September and October would see the hospitalization numbers at Butler Memorial increase to as many as 50 people in September and 53 in October.
