Nighttime, single-lane closures will begin Wednesday night on parts of Interstate 79 in Butler County.
The restrictions will occur in both directions near mile marker 80, which is two-and-a-half miles north of Route 228. The closures begin at 8 p.m.
Crews will be preparing to install temporary crossovers and utility work for the replacement of existing structures carrying I-79 over North Boundary Road in Cranberry Township. The overnight work will continue nightly through May 20.
And then, plans include a temporary bridge to keep two lanes of traffic moving northbound and southbound during further construction. This is a scheduled two-year project.
