Butler County has benefitted from a number of water line replacements over the past year.
Pennsylvania American Water announced that they spent nearly $5 million to upgrade the Butler system in 2020 including replacing more than three miles of aging water lines.
This brings the amount of money invested by PA American Water in the Butler system to $25 million since 2016, covering over 18 miles of new lines installed. The company also spent money to upgrade water treatment at the Butler Water Treatment Plant.
Overall, the company spent $400 million in 2020 in system upgrades across the state.
