The expansion of gambling will now allow Pennsylvanians to bet online, in airports and at truck stops.
Online gambling is relatively new- only Nevada, New Jersey and Delaware currently allow it. Pennsylvania will be the fourth state. And, the new measure makes Pennsylvania the first state to allow online play for both commercial casinos and its state lottery, as both go in search of newer and younger players.
Lawmakers expect the gambling legislation to bring in an estimated $200 million or more annually and was needed to help fill the state’s budget deficit. This appears to be a helpful way of allowing the state to remove the deficit they currently have. It is important that the state ensure that there are relevant helplines for people to ring if they feel they become too addicted to gambling or need help to come away from the habit.
There are plenty of sites readily available for residents to access, imhighroller.com for example. There is not a lack of sites, meaning that the estimated figure of enhanced revenue will likely be reached, or even surpassed.
We expect further states that have currently not allowed online gambling to follow trend if it has the positive affect on the states revenue and deficit that lawmakers have predicted.
