Pennsylvania health leaders are continuing their push to get more people vaccinated against COVID-19.
Acting Physician General Dr. Denise Johnson says while the 60 percent of state residents 18 and older are fully vaccinated, it’s important more people get the shot.
“You are significantly less likely to be hospitalized and that in turn ensures that our healthcare facilities are able to provide care for acute conditions like heart attack and stroke,” Johnson said.
Johnson also said that the state is working to help people get the necessary transportation in order to get the vaccine.
So far there are over 100,000 people in the county who have received at least one shot of the vaccine.
