Although the Butler County area saw a major employer close its doors earlier this month, a new study found that Pennsylvania saw the least amount of layoffs at the tail end of last year.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, only .2 percent of Pennsylvanian workers were laid off this past December. That works out to about 11,000 workers.
The low numbers come as area employers are also looking for workers. The Chamber of Commerce told our newsroom that at a job fair last Friday in Butler, more than 40 employers talked with nearly 100 job seekers.
