One of the leaders in the Pennsylvania State Senate will not seek re-election.
Republican Senator Joe Scarnati said yesterday that he will not be running for a sixth term in office.
Scarnati is the Senate Pro Tempore, where he serves as the president of the senate—a role he has had since 2007.
The 58-year-old Scarnati represents the 25th district, which includes eight counties in northern Pennsylvania.
