A woman from Parker is facing charges for allegedly abusing her infant son.
State police say they were called to Grove City Hospital this past Sunday for child abuse of a three-month-old boy. Investigators say the child suffered multiple fractures to his leg and ribs, along with a facial injury.
The injuries required the child to be flown to Children’s Hospital.
Charging documents say the mother of the infant, 20-year-old Destiny Valimont, admitted to police that she abused her son. Police also expect to charge the father, 31-year-old Dustin Snyder of Parker.
Police say the parents knew of the injuries to the infant, but did not get their son immediate medical attention.
According to our news partners at WPXI, Valimont spoke with a social worker Sunday morning saying she needed to get the baby to the emergency room. Valimont allegedly told the social worker he was “trying to get gas out of the baby” and that she thought she “did it wrong.”
Valimont was arrested and placed in the Butler County Prison.
