A large crowd braved chilly temperatures to celebrate the dedication of a new learning space at Butler County Community College.
The Dr. Robert Paserba Education Teaching and Learning Lab recently opened for student teachers to train in a simulated classroom setting.
The planning process began more than two years ago but last year the Paserba family pledged $200,000 to the BC3 Education Foundation for the creation of the lab. Around 80 other donors combined for $18,000 with the Foundation contributing $36,000 to achieve the cost of just over $250,000.
Paserba has spent over 60 years in education including overseeing the Butler Area School District for a decade, moving onto the Diocese of Pittsburgh, and his current position as Director of Education for the Extra Mile Foundation in Pittsburgh.
