A new partnership will give college students in the state a chance to earn a certificate from a leading technological company.
Governor Josh Shapiro announced that students in the State System of Higher Education, which includes Slippery Rock University, can earn a Google Career Certificate during their undergraduate studies.
Officials say it will allow students to earn an industry-recognized certificate while also earning college credits.
Governor Josh Shapiro spoke earlier this week at Millersville University.
“PASSHE and Millersville are giving us a clear example of what innovative workforce centered accessible education can look like in practice right here in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,” Shapiro said.
Shapiro also says that members of the public will also have options through non-credit courses and workshops to give access to the Google certification program.
