The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education is once again freezing tuition for the upcoming year.
This is the fourth year that the board of governors voted not to raise tuition for the 14 state schools across the Keystone State.
The chancellor of the system said that this isn’t the right time to raise prices on students. That counters what Slippery Rock University was looking for—which was a two percent increase this year for tuition.
PASSHE officials are looking for an additional $550 million in the state budget process this year.
The average tuition for a student in the state system is around $7,700 per year.
