Patricia L. Swidzinski, age 90, of Butler, passed away Fri., May 14, 2021 at her residence.
Born in Butler on Jan. 12, 1931, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna Williams Gallagher.
A Registered Nurse, Patty was a graduate of the Butler Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.
She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and the St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers.
She belonged to the Butler Memorial Hospital Nurses Alumni Association and the Coins and Bowlerettes Bowling Leagues. An avid card player, she played regularly in two card clubs for more than 60 years.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, John “Moe” Swidzinski. Patty and Moe, who were high school sweethearts, married May 9, 1953.
She is also survived by two sons, John “Jack” Swidzinski and his wife, Karen, of Butler, and Charles “Chuck” Swidzinski, of Butler; two grandchildren, Nicholas “Nic” Swidzinski and his wife, Dahlia, of Pittsburgh, and Layne Wood and her husband, Nathan, of Allison Park; two great-grandchildren, Violet and Briggs Wood; a number of brothers and sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews; and her caregiver, Dorothy “Dottie” Berninger, of Butler.
Patty was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Ave., Butler, on Mon., May 17, from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tues., May 18, at 10 a.m. from St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler.
Entombment will take place in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
