Sadly, on the afternoon of Friday, April 28, the Butler community lost a dear loved one. Patricia was born on July 18, 1952, daughter of the Late Albert Clark Selfridge and the Late Helen Louise (Johnson) Selfridge. She is survived by her two daughters Frank (Tammie) Gillen of Petrolia and Austin (Ellen) Geibel of Butler, as well as her son Gary (Brittany) Sweesy of South Carolina. She is also survived by her grandchildren Hailey and James Gillen of Petrolia. In addition to three siblings, Bonnie Claypoole, Harriett Claypool, and Albert Selfridge Jr., and a numerous number nieces, and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her husband Leonard (Lenny) Hilliard whom she married on December 29, 1978, in addition to two brothers Ronald Selfridge Sr. and John Selfridge, and one sister Linda Eddinger.
Patricia was well known as being an avid mother, grandmother, and friend in addition to her continuous involvement within her and her surrounding communities. Patricia was a hardworking individual that never backdown from any task. From an early age, Patricia has been well known for her continuous giving. For over 22 years, Patricia was a volunteer at the Butler Salvation Army. She was continually voted Volunteer of the year, as she volunteered everyday through sickness and all. She continued to think and wish about returning to volunteering up until her death.
During her free time, Patricia loved to bowl, play bingo, cook, and spend time with her family and pets. Previously Patricia was a devoted bowler, who completed in a variety of tournaments, until she decided to devote more time to her family. She then began to learn to love playing and hosting a variety of bingo events. The sound of calling bingo was always the highlight of her day. She also loved to cook her famous zucchini bread and chicken noodle soup for all her family, while watching her beloved family dogs without a second thought. She was known to never miss a baseball game or cheerleading event that involved either of her grandkids. As this is the type of person everyone knew Patricia to be. We and all your family and friends will always carry your memory in our hearts.
