Patricia Mae Broad went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday evening, April 26, 2021, at her home in Butler. She was surrounded by her loved ones.
Born August 23, 1931, in Parker, PA. She was the daughter of the late William and Gladys (Fox) Shields.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Ralph Broad, whom she married on May 14, 1949, and who passed away on February 5, 2007. They enjoyed 58 wonderful years together.
Patricia was retired from Collins Real Estate in 1985. She also worked for her family business, Pat’s Auto Sales, and she was a homemaker.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Butler, The Berean Sunday School Class, and she helped serve funeral dinners at her church.
Patricia enjoyed reading, cooking, playing games, traveling, and shopping. Her greatest joy in life came with spending time with her loving family of whom she was exceedingly proud.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Broad of Butler, PA; two daughter-in-laws, Dianne Broad of SC, and Sharla Broad of Butler, PA; four grandchildren, Christen Broad, Emily Broad, John (J.T.) Broad and wife, Erin, and Joshua Broad; one great-grandchild, Elizabeth Broad; one brother, Keith Shields of Butler, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in by death by two sons, John L. Broad, and Thomas E. Broad; one granddaughter, Kelly Broad; two brothers, Joseph Leslie (Elizabeth) Shields, and William Shields; four sisters, Wilma (Warren) Whetzel, Donna (Loyal) Stewart, Carol (Frank Oliver, James McMurdy) Oliver McMurdy, and Phyllis (Michael T.) Jenkins; and brother and sister-in-law, William and Della Broad.
Friends will be received Thursday, April 29, 2021, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021, 10:30 am at the First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle Street, Butler, PA, with Pastor David Maitland, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Barkeyville Cemetery.
Due to Covid-19 State Guidelines, visitors are required to supply their own and to wear a facial mask and adhere to social distancing. Groups are limited to 50 people inside.
