Paul Kosar, age 87, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, August 15, at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Lyndora on July 5, 1930, he was a son of the late Joseph and Fannie Malec Kosar.
He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 32 years, retiring in 1993. In addition, he was a delivery driver for NAPA Auto Parts for 22 years and he was formerly employed at Pullman Standard.
Paul was an avid New York Yankee fan.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Korean Conflict.
He was member of Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and American Legion Post 778 of Lyndora.
He is survived by one son, Gerald P. Kosar, of Butler; two daughters, Lori L. Bark and her husband, Greg, of Zelienople, and Paula J. Kosar, of Butler; one brother, Steve Kosar and his wife, Elsie, of Butler; one sister, Mary Turk, of Butler; and two grandchildren, Megan Kosar, of Butler, and Alex Bark, of Zelienople.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife, June M. Leroy Kosar, who passed away June 10, 2011, and five brothers and three sisters.
Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Avenue, Butler, on Friday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.
A blessing service will be held Saturday at 10 am from the funeral home.
Burial will take place in Saint Michael’s Cemetery.
The Bereavement Group of Saint Michael the Archangel Parish will meet at the funeral home on Friday at 3 pm to conduct a Scriptural Wake Service.
Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by American Legion Post 778, VFW Post 249, and American Legion Post 117.
