A pedestrian was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital after a crash Monday evening in Butler Township.
The call came into the Butler County 911 Center shortly after 7 p.m. for a person who was hit by a vehicle along Route 8 South near the Greater Butler Mart.
Butler Township Police say 45-year-old Michael Freeman was crossing Route 8 when he was hit by a car driven by 32-year-old Sabatino Marano of East Brady.
Freeman suffered serious injuries and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital, and then flown to a Pittsburgh hospital.
Traffic was delayed in that area for about 45 minutes as crews had to shut down that portion of the highway.
Police say further investigation is pending.
