One man is facing charges after he allegedly hit a pedestrian with a bicycle and fled the scene.
Butler City Police were called to the intersection of West Locust Street and North Main Street just before 4:30 p.m. Monday.
Police say three individuals were trying to cross the street when someone on a bicycle going north on Main Street hit a 77-year-old man. Police say the man was riding a traditional bicycle, and not an e-bike.
The bicyclist fled the scene after the accident. First responders treated the victim, with dispatchers saying he suffered “traumatic arrest.” He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital and then flown to a Pittsburgh hospital. He’s currently is serious, but stable condition.
During their investigation, police used video surveillance and identified the suspect as 57-year-old Lee Hodgins. He was soon taken into custody and placed in the Butler County Prison.
