The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 last night at PPG Paints Arena, and have sent their Stanley Cup Playoff Series back to Philadelphia for a Game 6 Wednesday. Penguins forward Elmer Soderblom scored his first goal of the series to open the scoring in the first period. Connor Dewar scored his second goal in as many games to give the Penguins a 2-0 lead early in the second period. The Flyers would later tie the game in the second period, before Kris Letang scored the game-winner with just under three minutes remaining in that period.
Arturs Silovs stopped 18 of 20 shots in net for the Pens.
The Pens had a scare during the game when Sidney Crosby had to leave the ice after taking a puck to the knee while blocking a shot. He later returned to the ice.
Tomorrow’s game will have a 7:30pm face-off. Pre-game on WISR begins at 7pm.
If there is a Game 7 in the series, it will be played in Pittsburgh Saturday.
Also in the Stanley Cup Playoffs last night – the Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Utah Mammoth 5-4 in overtime to tie their series at 2-2.
